Hey, I’m Jem…
I’m a dancer, arts professional, mother, critical thinker, thrifter and early years movement activist and advocate based in Powys, Wales. My practice and ethos has always been rooted in community and collaboration, with work developed over extended periods and shared in public spaces. Recently, I’ve focused on developing my practice within early childhood, partnering with other professionals to introduce more movement-based, embodied cross curricular approaches. Alongside this, I continue to project manage exciting arts initiatives, choreograph work, and support organisations and individuals with their design and marketing needs.
I can put together an exceptional biscuit buffet in seconds, I sew, sing, cook, dysgu cymraeg and listen to IDLES and a lot of musical theatre. I love american political thrillers and only read books about movement because I am a massive cliche.
I’m a creative and a creative’s best ally—versatile, resourceful, and ready to support or advise across a range of disciplines. Whether it’s project management, leading a campaign, undertaking admin tasks, or design and marketing, I bring a broad skill set to help ideas thrive. I really genuinely truly believe in the power of people and I just love seeing every day folk do incredible things.
